Michael Oelgeschlaeger Personally, I find double bass duos quite heavy, because the instrument has such a large presence and big, commanding voice. Additionally there is a whole universe to explore while plucking and bowing. These two players use the instrumentation to their advantage. They know, how far they can go and when it is appropriate to step back. The tracks have quite some variation. I like Damon Smith a lot and this album is another outstanding example of his abilities on the double bass.
